Terms of use and sale
This is a translation provided for convenience. The French version is the one that is legally binding.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Placelia online software, published by Léo BRUANT (see the legal notice), and the purchase of the “Event Pass” (the “Pass”) and “Pro” licences.
2. Free use
Placelia can be used free of charge, without signing up, for up to 50 guests per plan. Printouts from the free version carry a small Placelia mention. You are responsible for the data you enter, in particular your guests’ data.
3. Reseller
Ordering, payment, invoicing and VAT are handled by Polar Software Inc. (“merchant of record”), which resells the licence. Polar’s terms also apply to the transaction, but cannot take away the rights these terms and French consumer law give you. Payment by card or other means offered by Polar, in full, when you order.
4. Licences and prices
- Event Pass: €19 including VAT, one-time payment. Unlimited guests, printouts without the mention, personal use.
- Pro: €79 including VAT, one-time payment. Everything in the Pass, commercial use for your clients (event planners, caterers, venues), your own name on printouts, duplicating plans.
The licence is valid with no time limit for the online version of the service, for as long as it is operated. Updates are included. It does not renew and involves no further payment.
End of the service: if we decide to stop Placelia, we announce it at least 6 months in advance, on the site and by email to every licence buyer. Throughout that notice period, the service and your licence keep working normally: in particular, you can export your plans (“Export plan”, a .json file you keep) and print or save all your documents as PDF.
How it works: Placelia runs in a recent browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) with JavaScript enabled, on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to install. Plans are saved on your device and can be exported to a file. No minimum service level (availability, response time) is guaranteed beyond the legal guarantees below. If a security incident occurs, we fix the service and tell you here and, if you bought a licence, by email; since your plans are not on our servers, they cannot be exposed on our side.
Accessibility: the site and the app are designed to work with a keyboard, a screen reader and 200% zoom (target: WCAG 2.2 level AA). Tell us about any difficulty; this information is also available in an accessible format on request.
5. Delivery
The licence key is sent by email as soon as payment is made. Activate it in the app with the “Get the Pass” button.
6. Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from your purchase to withdraw, without giving a reason, even if you have already used the licence. The simplest way, before that period ends, is the online withdrawal function, “Withdraw from the contract here”, at the bottom of every page of the site and in the app’s “Licence” window: fill in the declaration, confirm it with the “Confirm withdrawal” button, and you immediately receive by email an acknowledgment with your declaration and its date and time.
You can also send us an unambiguous statement, for example the form below, at contact@placelia.fr (or by post to the address in the legal notice), with the email address used for the purchase. We acknowledge it by email.
We refund the full amount paid no later than 14 days after receiving your decision, using the same means of payment (the refund is made through Polar), at no cost to you. The licence key is then deactivated and the free version remains available.

6a. Legal guarantees
Placelia is a digital service supplied continuously for as long as your licence is valid. You benefit from the following legal guarantees:
The consumer is entitled to have the legal guarantee of conformity applied if a lack of conformity appears within two years, or for the whole period of supply of the service if that is longer, from the supply of the digital content or digital service. During this period, the consumer only has to show that the lack of conformity exists, not when it appeared.
The legal guarantee of conformity includes the obligation to supply all updates needed to keep the digital content or digital service in conformity for the whole period of supply of the service, and at least two years.
The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the digital content or digital service brought into conformity without undue delay after their request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to them.
The consumer may obtain a price reduction while keeping the digital content or digital service, or may end the contract and be fully refunded in return for giving up the digital content or digital service, if:
1. The trader refuses to bring the digital content or digital service into conformity;
2. Bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity is unjustifiably delayed;
3. The digital content or digital service cannot be brought into conformity without costs being imposed on the consumer;
4. Bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity causes major inconvenience to the consumer;
5. The lack of conformity persists despite the trader’s unsuccessful attempt to bring the digital content or digital service into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. The consumer then does not have to ask for the digital content or digital service to be brought into conformity first.
Where the lack of conformity is minor, the consumer is entitled to cancel the contract only if the contract does not provide for payment of a price.
Any period during which the digital content or digital service is unavailable while being brought back into conformity suspends the remaining guarantee until the digital content or digital service is supplied in conformity again.
These rights result from articles L. 224-25-1 to L. 224-25-31 of the French Consumer Code.
A trader who obstructs the legal guarantee of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be raised to 10% of average annual turnover (article L. 242-18-1 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for two years from discovery of the defect. This guarantee gives the right to a price reduction if the digital content or digital service is kept, or to a full refund in return for giving it up.
7. Liability
Placelia is a planning aid. Because your plans are stored on your device, it is up to you to keep a copy (“Export plan”). Check your plan before printing it or sending it to your suppliers.
8. Complaints, mediation and governing law
For any complaint, please write to us first at contact@placelia.fr.
Under the provisions of the French Consumer Code on “the consumer dispute mediation process”, if you have contacted us and have not received a satisfactory answer, you can use a consumer mediation procedure free of charge with:
